Fabric & Care
Every Sant and Abel sleepwear piece is made from pure, natural fabric. No synthetics, ever. We believe the fabric closest to your skin matters, which is why we only work with materials that are lightweight, breathable, and designed to give you the best possible night's sleep.
All of our fabrics are pre-washed and pre-shrunk, GOTS Organic Certified and OEKO-TEX Certified, meaning they've been independently tested and confirmed free from harmful chemicals.
Our fabrics
We use two types of organic cotton, each with a different feel, suited to a different style of sleeping and lounging. Here's how to tell them apart.
Traditional button-up pajamas
Think of a perfectly pressed shirt, structured, smooth, and polished straight out of the box. That's poplin. It's woven tightly with fine yarns, which gives it its crisp, clean feel from the first wear.
With every wash, the fibres gently relax without losing their strength. Over time it becomes softer, more fluid, that classic buttery feel, while still holding its shape beautifully.
Expected shrink rate: 1-2% · Non-stretch
T-shirt + short sets, henley + pant sets
If you've ever reached for a favorite T-shirt on a Sunday morning, you already know jersey. It's knitted rather than woven, which creates a natural stretch and that relaxed, lived-in softness from the very first wear.
Jersey is made for lounging and sleeping. It moves with you. If you're between sizes, we suggest going up a size for the most comfortable fit after washing.

Swimwear
Our swimwear is made from high-performance recycled polyester, built to hold its shape, color, and stretch through every season, wash after wash. The fabric is quick-dry, so you're never waiting long to move from the water to wherever the day takes you next.
Care instructions
Cotton sleepwear
- Machine wash in cold water
- Wash with similar colors
- Line dry in the shade to keep colors vivid, this is our first preference
- Low heat tumble dry if needed
- Warm iron as needed
- No bleach
Swimwear
- Turn inside out before washing to protect colour and texture
- Cold water, gentle cycle
- Wash with like colors
- Always hang to dry. Avoid wringing, which can stress the fibers
- For stubborn marks, soak with a gentle stain remover for 15 minutes before washing
