Product Safety Recall Notice for customers residing in the US only

It has come to our attention that we must do a voluntary recall on our children’s sleepwear in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission as they are not sufficiently tight fitting to pass the US federal flammability regulations, posing a risk of burn injuries to children. This issue concerns children’s cotton pyjamas that have been sold to our US customers only – this does not affect our customers outside of the United States.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Products Recalled: This recall involves our traditional button up poplin cotton pyjama sets and our cotton jersey knit snug fit sets. The traditional button up sets come in the following prints: Banana Leaf in green, pink and blue colourways; Palm Trees in green, pink and blue colourways; Plain White with navy trims, pink trims and pink and green trims; and houndstooth. The jersey knit snug sets come in the following prints: horizontal stripes in pink, red, light blue and navy blue colourways; daisy print, horse print; candy cane print, Christmas novelty print, and Christmas wreath print. The 100% cotton pyjamas were sold in sizes for ages 1-2T through 9-10Y.

Remedy: US customers should stop using the children’s pyjamas immediately and contact Sant and Abel for a full refund. Customers who purchased the product will be asked to cut the top and bottom of the garment in half so it can no longer be used, and send Sant and Abel a photo of the cut up garment to along with the corresponding order number. Upon receipt of the photo, consumers will be issued a full refund of the purchase price.

We are a small business founded in Australia who pride ourselves on the quality, sustainability and safety of our products and ensure that we conduct our operations with minimal wastage. The standard for children’s sleepwear in our home country differs from the US Standards, so it is heart-breaking to notify our customers of the recall and the actions they must take to rectify the situation; however we take this issue with the CPSC very seriously. We express our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience and look forward to providing our many loyal customers in the United States with children’s sleepwear which is compliant with the US federal flammability Standards.
